Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Guidewire BillingCenter (BC) Developer with deep expertise in configuring and customizing BillingCenter to manage billing operations for the insurance industry. This is a leadership role for an experienced developer who can handle complex challenges, provide guidance to the development team, and work closely with clients to implement effective solutions. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Guidewire BillingCenter and is Ace Certified Guidewire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and develop Guidewire BillingCenter (BC) to manage billing processes for various insurance lines of business, including policy and claims-based billing.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and clients to gather requirements and ensure that billing systems meet client needs and expectations.
- Lead the customization and integration of BillingCenter with other Guidewire modules (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter) and third-party systems (e.g., payment systems, financial platforms).
- Implement and configure billing workflows, bill cycle management, payment plans, and invoicing features in BillingCenter.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in BillingCenter applications and associated systems.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior developers, ensuring that best practices and development standards are adhered to.
- Work directly with clients in a client-facing role to present solutions, gather feedback, and adjust implementations to meet changing business needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver iterative improvements, working within defined sprint cycles.
- Contribute to system design and architectural decisions, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security for BillingCenter solutions.
- Maintain a high level of expertise in Guidewire BillingCenter and other Guidewire products (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter) to stay ahead of industry trends and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in Guidewire development, with deep expertise in Guidewire BillingCenter (BC) configuration and development.
- Certification: Ace Certified Guidewire (or equivalent certification).
- Strong hands-on experience with BillingCenter configuration, customizations, integrations, and deployment.
- In-depth knowledge of the Guidewire platform, including integration with PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter.
- Strong experience with the GOSU programming language, Java, XML, and web services (SOAP/REST).
- Strong understanding of billing processes in the insurance industry, including invoicing, payments, account management, and reporting.
- Client-facing experience, with the ability to effectively communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders and deliver solutions that align with business needs.
- Experience working in Agile teams with a focus on continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Proven track record of troubleshooting complex technical issues and providing resolutions in a timely manner.
